The Energy Law Association Inc. is a non-profit incorporated society in New Zealand, which focuses on legal issues relevant to the energy sector and natural resources, in a wide sense. As such, its concerns include oil and gas, electricity, mining, minerals, water, and all issues of legal interest flowing from them. The Association does not, however, have an environmental focus. ELA was originally incorporated in 1984 as The Energy & Natural Resources Law Association Inc. and changed its name to The Energy Law Association in July 2002. Regular lunch-time seminars are held on topics of current interest to energy law related companies and organizations.
